What should be the weight of my tennis racket?

The average weight of tennis rackets varies between 270g and 300g (unequipped).

Weight racquets (225-275g): These racquets are ideal for players looking for extra power on their serves and have a shorter swing. Beginners can choose both light and medium weight rackets for themselves.

Medium weight rackets (276-300g): These rackets are suitable for both club players and intermediate level players. These racquets offer the perfect combination of power and control to improve your game strokes.

Heavier rackets (>300g): These rackets are suitable for experienced players. Players can create their own rhythm of the game with more control on shots.

Where should the balance point be on the racket?

The 'balance point' on a racket refers to the weight distribution of the racket. In other words, the balance point is determined by where the center of balance of the racket is, starting from the base of the handle. There are three classes of balance in every tennis racket:

Head Center of Gravity Rackets (345-370mm): These racquets offer power and stability to lighter players. The weight distribution of the racquets moves from the handle to the head of the frame, i.e. to the main hitting part.

Rackets with center of gravity towards the handle (290-320 mm): These rackets are suitable for experienced players looking for extra power. They are ideal for players looking for good control or playing close to the net. These rackets add agility to heavy frames.

Even Balance Rackets (320-345mm): These racquets are ideal for players on all surfaces, offering good baseline power and excellent agility at the net. These rackets offer players great feel and flexibility. Weight distribution is even across the racket.
