Drop-stitch technology allows you to achieve much higher pressure, than you are able to with a normal inflatable kayak floor. Because of that the Advanced Elements drop-stitch floor is extremely rigid. When the drop-stitch floor is inserted in a kayak it makes the kayak firmer, which increases the speed kayak can achieve.

Drop-stitch floor makes the kayak more stable and rigid, and once it's installed it stays put. The floor won't have to be removed and reinstalled with each use of the kayak. Additionally, drop-stitch floor is a great option for you if you paddle in the lower waters a lot, where the kayak can hit something unexpected at times. The drop stitch floor is also extremely light which will be very convenient if you are travelling and trying to keep the weight down.

Preparation of the floor is very simple. First you will need to remove the original PVC floor, then put the drop-stitch floor in the base of the kayak and then check if the floor is aligned and evenly distributed between the sides of your kayak. The valve needs to be in the rear part and turned upwards. Then you first inflate the side chambers of your kayak as usual and then proceed to inflate the drop-stitch floor. Inflate the floor until inflating becomes hard and the floor becomes rigid. Even though, you probably will not reach 5 or 6 PSI that will not reduce the performance. While you’re inflating the kayak, check a few times if the floor is correctly aligned. When the floor is inflated finish setting up your kayak as you normally would.

If you are using the floor with single deck Convertible kayak, you should first inflate the floor.
